Eco Brick Initiative
Managing Waste with Creative Applications
Regenerative Living
If we take a holistic look beyond self-sufficiency to the sustainability of our environment for future generations, we shift to ways of living that heal, restore and strengthen the ecological cycles around us.
This is what is referred to as regenerative living, and includes practices such as composting food waste, being mindful before consuming, and plastic sequestration which is the process of capturing, securing and storing existing plastic from the biosphere.
What is an Eco Brick?
Eco Bricks are bottles that are densely packed with clean and dry used plastic, to be utilized as reusable building filler and building blocks for short and long term applications.
This form of plastic sequestration effectively secures it from releasing toxins and breaking down into microplastics.
To accelerate plastic transition, eco bricks created to Global Ecobrick Alliance (GEA) standards can be authenticated on GoBrik.com to create Brikcoin tokens in a manual decentralized Brikchain that can be used to exchange for ecobricks, to purchase regenerative products, and to register for GEA courses.
GEA Eco Brick Standards:
Be a short-term building block that can be indefinitely reused in the short term.
Compact, secured and store plastic safely out of industry and out of the biosphere for the long-term
Result in more plastic and CO2 being subtracted from the biosphere than was added by the process
Raise the individual and collective ecological consciousness of those involved in the process
Contributing to the maintenance and encouragement of biodiversity
Be created with the priority of biosphere benefit

Getting Involved- Eco Brick Drop Off
There are different words for it in cultures around the world– the Igorots call it Obo’obo, in Africa its know as ubuntu, in Indonesia gotongrayong, in the Philippines Kawasan. Whatever the term, the dynamic is the same: a community coming together to realize a shared vision and intention.
Our Community Garden on Jirou behind NAM Studio in Beaumont, Texas is currently accepting COMPLETED eco bricks to be transformed into building material for raised beds, separation barriers, and other creative applications.
If reducing your non-recyclable waste in inventive ways with practical and artistic applications is as exciting for you as it is for me... Join us!
COMPLETED eco bricks can be dropped at 2555 Jirou St. Beaumont, TX. 77703
